Define the agreed format, appearance, packaging and any verified technical criteria. A specification should identify what is checked, how it is recorded and how a nonconformity is handled.
Request relevant evidence
Discuss material controls, traceability, sample retention and finished-product checks relevant to the formula. Ask for current certification evidence only when the supplier actually holds it and the scope applies.
Review destination requirements
Importer obligations, product notification, conformity and label requirements vary by destination. Manufacturing documentation supports the review but does not itself establish local market approval.
