Sunscreen Development & Testing
Treat protection claims as evidence questions tied to a final formulation and destination.

Separate the concept from the claim
A sun care concept may define a cream or spray format, application feel and packaging direction. It does not establish SPF, UVA protection, water resistance or a clinical outcome. The final formula and the claimed use need an appropriate validation plan. Ingredient descriptions or a competitor’s label cannot supply the missing evidence for your product.
Agree the testing brief
Discuss the destination and proposed claim wording before commissioning tests. Ask the qualified laboratory and regulatory adviser which current methods and reports are appropriate. Keep the tested formulation reference, sample identity and report scope together. A change to the formula or delivery format may require a review of whether existing results remain relevant.
Evaluate the whole product system
Application, stability, package compatibility and instructions are part of the development discussion. Spray formats introduce delivery questions that cannot be resolved by choosing a bottle appearance alone. The approved sample should reflect the intended product system. Do not infer broad suitability, resistance or duration claims from the feel of a development sample.
Review the final label and market route
The importer should confirm the regulatory category and current requirements in each destination. Label wording must reflect the evidence actually available and the approved use. Manufacturing in China is not Saudi or UAE market approval. Keep unresolved protection claims off the artwork until the relevant reports and regulatory review have been completed.
Before the next project decision
- Document the product, destination and sales-channel brief.
- Record the approved sample, formula and packaging references.
- Allocate document preparation and review responsibilities.
- Confirm commercial scope and timing against the actual product.
Practical questions
Does sample approval complete the launch process?
No. A sample supports a development decision. The final product still needs the checks, documentation and market procedures appropriate to its scope and destination.
How should I start a project discussion?
Provide the product type, goal, channel, destination, packaging and estimated quantity. Include unresolved questions so they can be reviewed before manufacturing or print approval.
